Ondari is a seasoned leather scientist and technologist with a vast experience in tanning, leather products and footwear manufacturing, policy development, research, and training. He graduated from the University of Nairobi-Kenya with a Bachelor of Science degree in Leather Science & Technology, and later a Master of Science degree in Leather Science.

He specializes in carrying out research studies involving leather tanning (novel tanning agents/processes), root cause analysis, trouble shooting and problem solving on industries issues (cured hides, wet blue/wet white hides, crust, and finished leather), creation and presentation of educational content that the lab offers, as well perform physical and chemical leather tests. He is a also member of the American Leather Chemists Association.

Ondari enjoys a good TV show binge but can also be found on long bike rides on hilly country roads
