TEST METHODS

 

We offer most of the ASTM, ISO, AATCC, IULTCS and SLTC test methods designed to determine the physical, chemical and color fastness properties of leather for all end-uses, including:

  • Upholstery (furniture & automotive)
  • Garment & glove
  • Shoe
  • Personal leather goods

A particularly unique specialty of ours is that wherever feasible, we are willing to engage ourselves in the labor intensive and time-consuming set-up and tear-down work often required for non-routine tests that are requested on a unique one-time basis: The big commercial testing labs generally avoid such work because they are financially-driven rather than research-oriented.

Decision Rule Statement - For Analytical and Chemical Testing:

In accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 clause 7.8.6.1, the laboratory applies a simple acceptance decision rule for conformity assessment (PASS/FAIL). A result is deemed conforming if the measured value lies entirely within the specified tolerance limits, without consideration of measurement uncertainty.

Further Explanation:

• Decision rule is defined as rule that describes how measurement uncertainty is accounted for when stating conformity with a specified requirement.

The LRL uses a binary SIMPLE ACCEPTANCE DECISION RULE. Therefore, a test result shall be accepted as conforming if the measured value falls within the specified tolerance limits, without consideration of measurement uncertainty.

Example:

  • Specification limit: 5.0 – 10.0 %
  • Measured result: 8.52 %
  • Decision: Accepted (within limits)

The LRL communicates our decision rule through correspondence with the customer primarily through emailed documents. The decision rule will be stated in the Test Request Form, Testing Quote and Test Report.
